What it does

Sloptastic is a free Claude Code skill that detects content slop before SaaS founders waste time building it. It interviews you about what you're planning, scores it against 10 bottom-of-funnel methodology signals, and tells you whether to build it, fix it, or scrap it entirely.

Clean

Solid BOFU thinking. You get tips to make it even better.

Sloppy

Borderline. Specific fixes to save it before it's too late.

Sloptastic

Full slap. Full roast. What you should build instead.

Install

One command. Installs the skill to your Claude Code environment.

npx sloptastic

Then in any Claude Code session, type /sloptastic or just say "is this slop?"

The 10 slop signals

01

Intent

Content should capture existing demand, not generate awareness from scratch.

02

Specificity

If you swap your company name out and it still works, it's too generic.

03

Evidence

Claims need data, named customers, and specific metrics to be credible.

04

Switching narrative

Buyers choose you over something. Address what they're switching from.

05

Competitor honesty

Admitting one competitor strength makes everything else more believable.

06

Real buyer query

Every page should target a query buyers actually type into search.

07

Name-swap test

Content that works for any company in your space is slop by definition.

08

AI visibility

AI models need structured data and citable claims to recommend you.

09

Template potential

Good BOFU pages use templates you can clone for multiple segments.

10

Revenue path

Content should drive pipeline directly, not traffic that might convert someday.

How it works

01

Pick your content type

Blog post, comparison page, alternative page, use case page, glossary, free tool, case study, or landing page.

02

Answer 3–4 pointed questions

Tailored to your content type. "Who is searching for this?" "Could this be a BOFU page instead?" "If you swapped your company name out, would it still work?"

03

Get your verdict

Clean, Sloppy, or Sloptastic. With a roast, specific fixes, and links to the goBOFU methodology that explains why.

Why this exists

Most SaaS companies invest heavily in top-of-funnel awareness content and almost nothing in the pages that actually influence purchase decisions.

7.5%+

Comparison pages convert at 7.5%+ while typical blog posts convert at 0.5–2% (Grow and Convert).

57%

57% of the B2B purchase decision is complete before a buyer contacts sales (Forrester/CEB).

67 → 2.1k

Dynamic Mockups grew from 67 to 2,100 signups per month using templated use-case pages.

Built on goBOFU methodology

Sloptastic's scoring criteria come directly from the goBOFU content strategy and the Before They Buy podcast. The 10 signals are the same criteria goBOFU uses to build comparison pages, alternative pages, and use-case pages for SaaS companies. If you want to check your overall AI readiness first, start with the AI Visibility Gap Scorecard.
